New Fill Station

The East Bernard Fire Department approved the purchase of a new 6000 psi compressor, storage system and fill station at its June business meeting. The equipment arrived last week and was installed and ready for use on Friday Aug 19. The system is a Bauer four stage 13 cfm compressor with a two slot fill chamber. The new unit was purchased from Allied Breathing Air of Pasadena. The new system replaces our 47 year old hand me down unit we acquired in 2004 from Humble Fire Department. Feel free to stop by and look it over at your fire department.

Our New Truck

We recently purchased a replacement for our current rescue truck: a 2002 Pierce Wet Rescue! It is on the right in the photo.  This apparatus previously served Jersey Village as Rescue 3590.  On August 12th it will have gone to one of our service vendors to have all of the tools fitted to it and get the rest of the striping and decals. It will be gone for a few weeks, but watch for us to announce a push in ceremony when it returns and is put into service. Feel free to stop in anytime you see someone at the station, and we will gladly show it to you!

New Gear Racks

Thanks to Walmart, we were able to purchase two new GearGrid gear lockers to store our personal protective equipment in. Walmart awards grants annually to public service agencies as a way to give back to their local community, and we are grateful that we were a recipient this year.  The new lockers not only help our firefighters tell which gear belongs to which person, but also help to better protect the gear by keeping it contained where a gust of wind coming through the bay doors will not send the gear to the floor.
